It is a brand new year
Every year passes faster than the last. I swear as I am getting older time is getting younger, quicker, and more agile. It is running circles around me. But maybe it’s cause I’ve been paying little attention to it.
So here is my resolution: I vowe to take notice and appreciate every minute of time I am given in this new year. To take nothing for granted and become fully emerged in this year.
As for 2008, well it was a memorable one. The best memory was walking onto main stage at Bamboozle and playing my music to a sea of people. It was a dream lived. One of the proudest moments of my life. There was also getting to tour nearly half the country with a gang of hooligans also known as my band and best friends. Our joy and good times were unmeasurable. I also was lucky enough to spend the whole year in love with a girl named Jessica. She is my other half. I am half CYKAS, half Jessica. She stood by me through the roller coaster known as 2008 and her love and support never waivered or fell off the path.
I know most of you probably have already X’d out of the blog by now. But that’s ok. I am going to keep on going with this one because I want to and that’s how I roll (most of the time).
2009…That number has a hard time finding meaning in my brain. What does that mean? What is a 2009? It is an enormous number stating a single certain point in an endless landscape of time. It signifies a blink of our universe and its lifetime. Yet we find ourself stuck in this category of 2009 for the next 365 24 hour days. So what are we going to do about it?
My band and I will sign to a record label this year. We will do the most relentless touring we have ever done. We will release the best songs we have ever written. We will embark on the biggest, best, most passionate musical endeavors that will dwarf our past experiences. We will stop at nothing. We will achieve what we were bred for. 2009 is the year of the CYKAS.
What are your plans? Don’t let them be marred by logic or rationality. Only a fool can achieve all of his wildest dreams.
