In June of 2009, I posted a little quip to this very blog which read, “Everything - it’s gonna be gone before you know”.

About three years have passed since I made that ominous remark. I’m not sure exactly what I was referring to but I do know that there is still a deep amount of truth in that tiny statement.

I can sit here for hours, thinking about how much has come and gone in these three short years. I gained wonderful friends. Saw the world with amazing musicians. Lived life in love. Lost friends. Left great musicians. Let love burn out.

I’ve seen this before. And just as I predicted, everything has gone on its way before I woke up and without even leaving a number.

But I’ve seen this before. I know what happens next.

The cycle continues. I am a hardened slate - refreshed, renewed, and cleansed by a retreating tide which brought more than I dreamed of and deserved.

I know what happens next. And I could not be more excited.

The new tide is coming.
